In the Kitchen

1.     On such a night (that is
        solid and cold) it's nothing
        but hope (and nothing
        but awful music) we can have inside.

2.     A few plans for the evening go awry.






The forest and the trees

3.      Shake to the ground. The motion
         a puzzle. The fence slats rattle.

4.      The dust in the air enough to drown in.






The birds

6.      After quiet patches of vegetables resting
         in the snow. The birds trod
         through the garden
         and the light images of their wings
         banged the doors shut.

7.      A spin is in the air.





The landscape

8.      By the birds, by the smells
         of the trees, by the difficulty
         of the fire.

9.      Examples of dry lands and wet lands.

10.    No shortage of rocks in the river.

12.    When it comes a time to bind
